Jamaica - A Paradise for Golfers

Known for it's natural beauty, talented people, music, and culture, the island of Jamaica also boasts twelve golf courses. The year round accommodating weather, spectacular terrain and diverse golf courses provide the ultimate golf experience for novices and professionals alike. Jamaica has led the field for golf like many other sports in the Caribbean for over 144 years and selected as the best golfing destination in the Caribbean and the rest of the world 2010 by members of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators. The Jamaica Golf Association has been around since 1925.

Nine of Jamaica's twelve golf courses are situated on the island's famed North Coast amongst various world class resorts. The island's tourist, and golf capital is Montego Bay. Jamaica's "second city" is home to the world renowned courses of Half Moon, Cinnamon Hill, White Witch and Tryall making it an ideal base camp for any visiting golf enthusiast. But if those spectacular 72 holes of golf are not enough for you there is no shortage of other options. East of Montego Bay the Super Clubs Golf Club at Runaway Bay offers a championship test, while the Upton Golf & Country Club above Ocho Rios provides a relaxed resort experience in a spectacular setting. Caymanas Golf & Country, located on the outskirts of capital city Kingston has a classic parkland layout. During your journey around Cinnamon Hill you will encounter the Rose Hall Great House where Annie Palmer wielded her evil powers, a centuries-old burial plot, an ancient aqueduct that was used to grind sugar-cane in the plantation era and the water fall used in filming the love scene from James Bond's "Live and Let Die".
